Located in Israel, the start-up nation, we harness Israel's technology innovation assets as well as global entrepreneurs to deliver practical innovation to the sector.
Our ecosystem is made of three communities of stakeholders - entrepreneurs, corporates, and investors. Through tight cooperation with all three communities, we tie the knot between global leading corporates and creative startups introducing digital innovation aimed at making the world cleaner, safer, and more efficient. Investors benefit from the performance of a diverse portfolio of startups seeking to change the maritime and supply chain universe.
Team
Hannan Carmeli has vast and multi-disciplinary experience in hi-tech companies. Served recently as an Operating Consultant with the private equity firm Francisco Partners involved in acquisition and value creation of Israeli portfolio companies. Prior to that served as Director of International Activity of the Israeli Innovation Authority (formerly Office of Chief Scientist) - a government agency overseeing the Hi-Tech and innovation ecosystem in Israel. Prior to this Carmeli served as the President and Co-CEO of ClickSoftware (publicly traded - NASDAQ) leading the company for over 16 years to become global leader in workforce management and service optimization. Carmeli graduated the Naval Academy & Advance Maritime Command School with commendation. Served as Patrol Boat Commander, and second-in-command of a Missile Corvette. Carmeli holds a BSc degree in computer science from the Technion and is a graduate of Boston University.
Nir Gartzman is a maritime, hi-tech and clean-tech professional combining strong technical capabilities with broad industry background and business development experience. Nir earned his proficiency during 10 years of management positions in both navy and civilian sectors. Responsibilities included positions of Chief Engineer of a navy vessel, superintendent of cargo ships, Project Manager in charge of hardware and software integrations, and sales & business development manager for a multinational corporate. Nir holds a B.A degree in business management from Reichman University.
Noa Schuman is a communications and marketing professional, experienced with developing and implementing global marketing strategies, building customer and investor communities and relations, driving engagement, retention and advocacy. Noa spent most of her career in agile hi-tech software companies, managing investor relations for a SaaS company traded on NASDAQ, leading external and internal communications through significant company transformations and organization changes, building customer reference programs and online communities. Noa holds a B.A. degree in Communications and English Literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and is a certified Investor Relations Manager from University of California, Irvine.
Michal Hendel-Sufa has over 20 years of experience in the hi-tech sector, transforming proprietary knowledge into bold, innovative and practical digital solutions. Her experience spans in both domestic and international, private, academic and hi-tech sectors.
Michal is an expert in information systems, IT and product management, served as a manger in pioneering high tech companies like VocalTec (VoIP communication) and TimeToKnow (education technology). She also spent a few years in the academy where she launched a visionary program based on 21st century global technology, education and employment needs, for enhancing interactive and meaningful learning.
Michal holds a BSc. in Industrial Engineering from Ben Gurion University and an Executive MBA from Tel-Aviv University.
Maayan Rosenboim is a research and high-tech professional with experience in data analysis, experimental practices, programming, and project management. Maayan worked as a research assistant at the Sport Psychology Laboratory at the University of Konstanz, Germany, and served as a software developer and commander in the MAMRAM unit (the IDF’s Center of Computing and Information Systems). Nowadays, she serves as an academic advisor at The Adelson School of Entrepreneurship, a unique school in the Israeli landscape, strives to promote educational study and practice in the field of entrepreneurship and business. In her free time, Maayan volunteers with children with special needs via the “House of Wheels” organization. Maayan holds a B. A degree (with honors) in Psychology and Political Science from Ben-Gurion University.
Investment Advisory Board
Jesper Praestensgaard is a senior executive with 30 years of experience from the shipping and logistics industry, including 25 years with the A.P. Møller Maersk Group and 3 years with Hapag-Lloyd. Currently serves as a non-executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Unifeeder A/S, the largest common feeder operator in Europe, as well as a Senior Advisor at the Boston Consulting Group in their global shipping and logistics practice.
Mr. Praestensgaard holds an MBA (Honors) from IMD and has attended several executive programs over the years with different business schools including Harvard Business School, INSEAD, Penn State University and University of Michigan.
Orit Alperovitz is a certified lawyer holding extensive experience in the financial industry and capital markets. Orit has worked as a legal counsel in both local investment and international financial institutions, including serving as a member of the management committee at UBS Israel and Edmond de Rothschild Group in Israel. Alongside her career Orit is passionate about innovative technologies that significantly disrupt the way business/industries operate. In the past decade Orit had invested in startups seeking for impressive entrepreneurial teams that can lead companies to achieve this potential. In 2018, Orit co-founded the Israeli first female investment club - NEOME, and she currently serves as its CEO.
Tetsuji Madarame acquired invaluable management expertise through his 43-year carrier in NYK group, including maritime shipping, terminal, cargo airlines, logistics, corporate planning, IT and DX Innovation. He has BA (Economics) from University of Tokyo and MBA from Stanford University.
George Canbanis founded and led Deloitte Greece and their Global Shipping and Ports business, overseeing the listing of 10 Greek shipping companies on the NYSE and NASDAQ. He works with fintech startups and helps scale technology companies focused on addressing pain points in the global shipping industry. George is also actively investing in startups
Ofer Greenberger is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of international turnaround management track record in the technology sector. In his recent capacity Mr. Greenberger served as CEO of Applied Materials (Israel) Ltd. Prior to that, he served as the CEO of Orbit Communication Systems Ltd and as President and General Manager of KLA-Tencor (Israel). Mr. Greenberger is a graduate of the Israeli Naval Academy & Advance Maritime Command School and served as an officer on a missile corvette. Greenberger holds a BSc. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) and is a graduate of the Stanford/AEA executive program
